On behalf of the Powwow Committee and the Donald M. Johnson Native American Scholarship Foundation, we would like to welcome you to the Annual West Valley-Mission College Powwow web site. Our mission is to provide a cultural event to our community that embodies the traditional and modern life ways of Native Americans. This is an annual event that is shared by all people and has a theme of Native American scholarship in order to recognize our local community college district students’ scholastic accomplishments. A fun-filled day and evening of singing, drumming and dancing, arts and crafts, and good food.We are glad to share our culture with the community, and hope that Indian and non-Indian alike will come away with an experience that broadens their understanding and acceptance of individuals, tribes, and nations.
